Ferrari fastest, De Vries most productive

Ferrari holds the complete top three after the test day at the Yas Marina Circuit, which also saw many rookies in action. Pierre Gasly followed the Ferrari drivers with a fourth time, just ahead of Verstappen. Behind him, Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant finished sixth and seventh respectively on behalf of Williams.

De Vries set an eighth time and was the most productive driver of the day. He drove no less than 151 laps in the AlphaTauri car, where he has secured a permanent seat for next year. For the Mercedes W13, the new Pirelli tyres did not prove to be a strong match. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell closed the test with a 17th and 23rd time respectively.
