Seidl on Ricciardo's form: "I fully take my responsibility in this as well"

Daniel Ricciardo will no longer be in action for McLaren in Formula 1 next season. Despite McLaren not wanting to continue working with the Australian, Andreas Seidl did say that he thinks Ricciardo can return to his old form in the future.
Seidl, McLaren team boss, expects Ricciardo to be able to return to his old form. Over the past two seasons with McLaren, Ricciardo underperformed. McLaren and Ricciardo are parting ways after the 2022 season ends. The Aussie will be replaced by compatriot Oscar Piastri.
Support from Seidl
"I’m absolutely convinced that is possible because I’ve seen that in the past myself," Seidl is quoted as saying by ASN Motorsports. The comment is somewhat striking, as Ricciardo has yet to find a new seat for next season.
Seidl says Ricciardo and McLaren had to accept that the driver and the team could not solve the problem of poor form together. In this, Seidl reveals that it was not just Ricciardo's fault. "I fully take my responsibility in this as well," the team boss reveals.
Where can Ricciardo go?
The number of seats left vacant in Formula 1 is dwindling after Alfa Romeo also confirmed that its driver duo for 2023 is complete. Guanyu Zhou will race for a second year with the team. This leaves only the seats at Alpine, Haas F1 and Williams vacant for Ricciardo. AlphaTauri would be the last chance when Pierre Gasly leaves for Alpine, but the chances of Ricciardo wanting to return to Red Bull Racing's sister team seem slim.
