The wild silly season for 2023 seems to have calmed down somewhat with the confirmation of Oscar Piastri and McLaren. But with Pierre Gasly now linked to Alpine's seat, the Red Bull Racing family may be in for another round of seat selection.

Gasly would be free to make a switch to Alpine from Red Bull and AlphaTauri. According to team advisor Dr Helmut Marko, Gasly's dream is to drive for a French works team. Red Bull is willing to let him go to Alpine, but on its own terms. With the possible loss of Gasly within the Red Bull ranks, a spot becomes vacant.

Marko turns down Schumacher for available seat

That seat is one that F1 drivers and juniors are looking for, but Marko told Germany's Sky that Mick Schumacher has no claim to the AlphaTauri seat. Marko: "He doesn't matter to us. He is a Ferrari junior and therefore we have never negotiated with Mick Schumacher. We have our own programme [with juniors] and we obviously prefer our own people."
