Verstappen due for fourth gearbox of the year in Hungarian GP

Max Verstappen will start the Hungarian Grand Prix with a new gearbox. The Dutchman is not yet over the limit with this gearbox, so a grid penalty is not in the cards.
New gearbox for Verstappen
The relevant document from the FIA shows that Verstappen will start at the Hungaroring with a new gearbox. It is his fourth gearbox of the year, with which the Dutchman has also reached the limit. While Formula 1 teams work with a pool of three engines per driver each season, the maximum number of gearboxes is set at four.
Red Bull Racing will probably not make the change out of necessity, as it is unlikely that Verstappen is already on his last gearbox of the year. The team may continue to rotate the existing gearboxes in the pool throughout the season. Verstappen is not the only driver to have a new gearbox at the start in Budapest: Sebastian Vettel will also be fitted with a new one by Aston Martin. For the German, who recently announced his retirement from Formula 1, it is only his third gearbox of the season.
