Max Verstappen missed out on pole position at Silverstone, but will still start the race from the front row. Christian Horner admits that missing out on first place on the grid was a disappointment, but thinks the championship leader has an excellent starting point for the race.

"We are disappointed not to have pole, but it is still great to be on the front row," the Red Bull Racing team boss told Viaplay ahead of the race. "We were unlucky with the yellow flag, but Carlos did a great job with his first pole," he added.

Horner expects tough race at Silverstone

Horner points out that the race conditions will again be very different from Saturday. There were drops on the track again in the run-up to the start, but it now appears to be mostly dry. Whether it will remain so during the race, however, is still a big question mark.

The Red Bull boss therefore expects both the weather and the teams' pit stop strategies to play an important role. "It will all depend on the weather and whether it is a two-stop or one-stop race. It will be a tricky race," concludes Horner.
