Mercedes hopes for podium at Silverstone: "We will be going for it"

The British Grand Prix is a special weekend for hometown heroes Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The two Mercedes drivers hope to get a good result in front of the thousands of British fans present at Silverstone, but the drivers remain realistic.
"We will try and go out there and put on a show and bring home some silverware. We will be going for it. The cars ahead is just a bit faster than us. We will have to do something special but try to bring some good results for them [the fans]", Russell says in the F1 Build-Up before the race.
Russell will start the race from P8, while Hamilton will start from fifth. The British know that the Ferrari's and Red Bull's are faster than the W13, but with strategic choices the team wants to try something. The weather could also play a role, with some showers predicted at the start of the race.
Hamilton remains realistic
Hamilton knows it will be difficult to finish on the podium, but the seven-time world champion is not giving up hope. "I hope we can do a good job for them today. We will give it everything! We will try to change that P5 for something better. We need to be realistic that the cars ahead are a bit faster but we can hopefully do something through strategy to get a podium", Hamilton adds.
