The F1 organisation decided after an emergency meeting on Friday, during the final winter test day at Barcelona, that this year's Russian Grand Prix will not take place following the events of the last few days. The organiser of the event in Russia is not giving up yet and hopes that the GP will still go ahead, therefore the promoter indicated that for the time being it will not return the amounts of tickets already sold.

On the grid, the Russian invasion is also causing an uproar at Haas F1. The American team appeared at the start of the test week on Wednesday with the colors of the Russian flag because of the Russian main sponsor Uralkali. The team decided not to continue with the sponsor on the car. But since Uralkali is the company of driver Nikita Mazepin's father and his seat was bought for him in this way, Mazepin's future is in doubtl.
