Mercedes has no 'Ferrari nose' and opts for longer wheelbase

Mercedes has presented the new W13 for the 2022 Formula 1 season. If you put that car alongside the previously presented cars from Ferrari and Aston Martin, some interesting conclusions can already be drawn there.
No Ferrari nose
On Thursday Ferrari presented the new F1-75 with which it also went straight onto the track at Fiorano on Friday morning. Mercedes presented the new W13 on Friday and will drive it at Silverstone later on in the same day. When you put the two cars side by side, you can see some differences from the front.
The most notable difference is the nose, which is much narrower and tapered on Ferrari. The front wing itself is also different. Ferrari has a fairly flat front wing, where Mercedes has a small bulge. The sidepods are also clearly different. The ones at Ferrari are very narrow with a notch at the top of the sidepod, where Mercedes has a small square opening, and mainly goes for the 'undercut' under the sidepod.

Long wheelbase of Mercedes
This difference is also evident with Aston Martin's AMR22. Like Ferrari, Aston Martin opts for fairly wide sidepods and where Ferrari opts for a sort of dent at the top, Aston Martin has slots. At Mercedes, that entire sidepod is worked inward. The so-called "bottleneck" is therefore much narrower at Mercedes than at its competitors.
Another thing that stands out in the comparison between the AMR22 and the W13 is Mercedes' longer wheelbase. The Germans have been known for this for some time, but even with the new regulations the car in the pictures looks a lot longer than the Aston Martin.
