The Verstappen household had reason to celebrate as Jos Verstappen secured victory in a rally event in northern Sweden. Just days before his son Max kicks off the new Formula 1 season in Australia, the former took the win alongside co-driver Renaud Jamoul in challenging wintry conditions. The pair dominated the rally, cruising to an unchallenged victory on the final day.

The Rally With No Name in Scandinavia featured 11 stages over three days, and Jos Verstappen, alongside co-driver Renaud Jamoul, dominated the event by winning nine of them. Following the win, Verstappen.com shared photos on Instagram, capturing the celebration with Jos and his team. One of the highlights was the unique trophy, which embraced Scandinavian tradition with its distinctive antler design. You can check out the photos at the bottom of the article.

Jos Verstappen also made headlines a few days ago when he debunked a social media statement about his son Max's future. A journalist claimed that Max Verstappen would drive for Mercedes' team from 2026, but Jos responded via X to debunk this. "Jack, Jack, Jack. What nonsense you are talking about," Max's father wrote on the platform.

Is rally racing something for Max Verstappen?

Jos recently gave an interview to De Telegraaf about his rallying exploits. "Ten years ago, I didn't think I would drive so many rallies. But I just need this, I enjoy it immensely," the 53-year-old explained. He was then also asked if rallying is something for his son Max. "No, not at the moment. I don't think he is interested right now either. But I'm sure if he ever starts doing this, he will be sold," he concluded.

Max Verstappen takes to the track this weekend as Formula 1 returns for the first race of 2025 in Australia. It's an early start for fans in the northern hemisphere, with the race kicking off at 4am GMT.
