In only three days, Lewis Hamilton will drive in his first grand prix for Ferrari. Historically, both Ferrari and Hamilton have performed well in Australia separately. On pre-season day three, Hamilton talked about his adjustment period in Ferrari and about their next moves.

As Hamilton was contracted with Mercedes until the very end of December, he was not able to complete the post-season test with Ferrari. When answering a question about how he is adjusting, he said, “I didn't get to do the test at the end of the year, so for me, I started relatively late compared to others that have come before me. Like, [when] Sebastian [Vettel] was here, I think he started in November, so he had a good two months.”

Hamilton in high spirits

Hamilton, like Vettel, joined Ferrari in the search of another championship. “For me, it's been this month period that I've had, so a lot has been crammed in that time. But personally, I'd like to just jump in the deep end and figure it out, and that's what we're doing.”

A test Hamilton did manage to part take in for Ferrari, was the pre-season's in Bahrain, where he eyed the rival teams' performance.“These guys out there look really, really quick, really competitive. It looks very, very close. We won't know, obviously, until next week exactly where we stand. But, we know that we've got work to do, and everyone has their heads down,” he concluded.
