According to MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia, the transfers of Lewis Hamilton and Marc Marquez entering the 2025 season are not comperable for an important reason. The Spaniard also reacted to Hamilton's arrival in Italy at Ducati's presentation event.

Similarly to F1, another high-profile transfer decision was made in MotoGP. While Lewis Hamilton joined Ferrari, Marc Marquez now joins the Ducati factory team, signing a multi-year deal.

Bagnaia doesn't yet think Ferrari are there yet

When the Italian rider was asked about Hamilton, the difference is that unlike Ducati in MotoGP, Ferrari are not the dominant force in F1. "Let’s say that the human aspect still matters a bit more for us. Although Ferrari has been competitive in certain situations, unfortunately, they are still not on the level of other teams. They’re working hard, and Charles and Lewis will surely do a great job," he said.

Eight-time world champion (and six-time MotoGP champion) Marquez added: "The red color is what connects me and Lewis. Hamilton is Hamilton, and he will certainly bring even more attention to Ferrari. In Formula 1, he’s a driver who, alongside Fernando Alonso, and now Max Verstappen and other young talents, attracts the most media attention. He has experience, but it seems that the name itself carries more weight, and that won’t necessarily help him win more," the MotoGP legend explained.
