The 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marked Carlos Sainz's last drive for Ferrari in Formula 1. The Spaniard will now leave for Williams Racing, having to make way for Lewis Hamilton at the Italian team. According to Sainz, he can't given the seven-time world champion any advice in advance.

When asked if he had any advice for Hamilton going to Ferrari, Sainz replied that Hamilton did not need that from him. "No. Honestly, I don't think a seven-time world champion that has changed teams in the past needs my advice. The only thing I can obviously recommend to him or tell him is to enjoy it."

'Hamilton will enjoy it'

Sainz continued with explaining what makes Ferrari special in the competition., "It's an incredible place to be part of and an incredible place to drive and feel like a Formula One driver. I believe he will get incredible treatment from the Tifosi and from all the supporters, engineers, mechanics, and everyone involved in Ferrari and enjoy it because there's nothing better than being a Ferrari Formula One driver. I'm sure he's going to enjoy that," the Williams driver concluded.

While Sainz will not officially drive for James Vowles's team until the 2025 season, he was able to test in Abu Dhabi, courtesy of Ferrari. The Spaniard had a filming day with the team on Monday, then participated in the Pirelli Tyre Test on Tuesday as well.
