Verstappen takes a cheeky dig at Zak Brown after F1 title win
Max Verstappen took a cheeky jab at Zak Brown when the McLaren CEO came over to congratulate the Dutchman for winning the 2024 Formula 1 season. Verstappen was able to get the win despite not having the quickest car for most of the season. He made sure to highlight this to Brown.
Verstappen had to finish ahead of Norris to secure the World Championship in Las Vegas and he did just that. Brown, the CEO of Lando Norris' team, has posted on social media to offer his congratulations. "Congrats to Max Verstappen on clinching your fourth World Championship. An incredible achievement, and a testament to your talent and dedication," Brown said after a few heated moments in recent months between McLaren and Red Bull.
This included the time when Brown said “six or seven drivers” could have won the title if they had Verstappen’s Red Bull on the Beyond the Grid podcast.
Verstapen's cheeky dig at Brown
Brown approached Verstappen when the Dutchman was speaking to Sky Sports. "You pushed us all the way," Verstappen told Brown as they shook hands. "You earned it. Four world championships. Beat my Senna guy," Brown replied.
"Like you said, before I could only win it in the fastest car. This year’s been a little different," Verstappen said with a smile on his face. Brown laughed off the comment and said "exactly."
