Norris after Brazil: 'My comment was taken out of context'

Lando Norris has been under pressure both on and off track throughout the championship battle with Max Verstappen this season. More than ever, fans and pundits alike have been sharing their opinions about the British driver. Speaking in Las Vegas, Norris addressed his controversies and how his comments in Brazil were misconstrued.
After the Brazilian Grand Prix, Lando Norris made a statement in the media that Max Verstappen's victory was mainly down to luck. This was particularly shocking as his fellow drivers, pundits and fans had widely shared how impressed they were with Verstappen's driving in the extremely challenging conditions.
Despite the fact that the McLaren driver became a hot topic of conversation, Norris has said that he did not feel attacked by the media. "There's more eyes on you. Of course, when you're fighting at the front, there's more people watching. You're going to have more supporters in some ways. You're going to have more people who are against you and supporting other drivers," the McLaren driver told GPblog and other media.
Norris is increasingly misunderstood
"There's definitely been more controversial moments and things," Norris continued. "I've definitely voiced my opinion probably more clearly than I have in the past. Sometimes people agree with it, sometimes they won't. I’m fine with that. I think things still clearly get taken out of context. That was one of the things in Brazil. Stuff got quite easily taken out of context from what I said and created definitely the wrong perception of what I meant and what I said. "
The title battle with Verstappen has made Norris realise something new. "I don't feel like I'm under attack. I don't mind these things, that's social media. I do my best to just be honest, be myself. You always want people to be on your side, but at the same time I realised you can't have everyone on your side."
"That's probably one of the things I've realised this year. I probably have more enemies, but I've also got more supporters. I'm obviously happier and more thankful for the supporters that I got," Norris said.
