F1 Red Bull working on RB20 front bib clearance

'Red Bull working on adjusting ride height; RB20 to meet FIA requirements'

18 October at 15:10

Red Bull have already made changes and adjustments to the RB20 after allegedly being accused of 'cheating' by other teams on the grid. According to reports, Red Bull were able to change their ride height between qualifying and the race while under parc ferme conditions, something that FIA has now told them that they cannot do. Now, they have to change their car so that the front bib clearance cannot be adjusted during that time.

'Red Bull hopes to be ready by the Brazilian Grand Prix'

With these modifications made by the Austrian team, they will hope that the RB20 will be ready for the Brazilian Grand Prix, according to Autosport. These modifications should assure the FIA that the ride height adjustment cannot be used in parc fermé conditions, hampering their chances of success at the United States Grand Prix this weekend.

The front bib clearance sits in the middle of the floor at the front of the car, but adjustments during parc fermé conditions are strictly prohibited. The FIA has already said it will check more strictly for such 'tricks'. Max Verstappen said on Thursday in Austin, Texas that at first, he did not realise that Red Bull were involved in any sort of 'trick' at all.
