F1 Rene Arnoux on Red Bull and losing dominance

Arnoux sees domino effect at Red Bull: 'That destabilised everything'

17 October at 17:45

Red Bull Racing have last won a Grand Prix this season back in June, when Max Verstappen crossed the finish line in P1 at the Spanish Grand Prix. However, now months have passed since a Red Bull getting on the top step of the podium. Former F1 driver Rene Arnoux saw that coming, he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I have been saying it since the first reports and initial craziness: 'The whole thing would destabilise everyone and affect the team's performance'. And that is exactly what we saw. The team suddenly lost the dominance they had last year, and which they seemed to have at the beginning for this championship too," Arnoux began about Red Bull Racing's current dip in form.

Arnoux: 'Red Bull stagnate'

After the autumn break, Formula 1 resume with the US Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas. Red Bull are bringing updates to the RB20 for this weekend, but according to Arnoux, the team have recently stagnated. Therefore, he is curious to find out whether the Austrians would be now able to take a step in the right direction.

"The others have moved on, found new solutions: Red Bull did not, at least not for many weeks in a row. Then it is true that Verstappen may have made some progress in the last race before the stop. For that too, I am very curious to see what will happen in Austin," the seven-time race winner concluded.
