Ferrari launch the F80 with F1 technology: How much does it cost to buy?
Ferrari has launched a brand new hypercar. The new Ferrari F80 is equipped with a state-of-the-art V6 engine, derived from the one used in F1.
On Thursday, Ferrari launched the new F80 that "is the start of a new technological era." Only 799 will be made. The model should follow in the footsteps of the iconic GTO, F40 and LaFerrari.
Like its predecessors, the F80 also benefits from the latest technologies in top-level motorsport. Ferrari is active in Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship, where the V6 hybrid engine has been used for several years. The same 499P engine, which was used to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans, is now used in the F80.
How much does the Ferrari F80 cost?
Besides the engine, the new F80 also benefits from the aerodynamic knowledge within Ferrari. For example, the F80 has an active rear wing, diffuser, flat underbody and an S-Duct to generate 1000kg of downforce at a speed of 250km/h. This is a result of the active suspension, which also brings about the ground effect. The price of this car? The Ferrari F80 costs €3.6 million in Italy, including VAT. However, all 799 models have already been allocated to their new owners, so you can't place an order now.
