Entering the final six Grands Prix of the season, it's make it or break it for Max Verstappen and Lando Norris in terms of the drivers' championship, with the latter chasing the Dutchman in the standings. Former Formula One driver Gerhard Berger also believes it will be a tight battle, but favours the Red Bull driver to come out on top.

The gap between the two drivers currently stands at 52 points, with two tripleheaders remaining on the calendar. Berger believes the Formula One will have another title decider in Abu Dhabi, similarly to the 2021 season. "I expect a very close championship and I think Norris will be a contender for the world title with Verstappen until the last race," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Why will Verstappen win the championship according to Berger?

"There will be no room for error. Max has a lot of potential and experience, and Red Bull are only focusing on him, so I have a feeling that he can save this world championship in the end," the Austrian continued.

The former Formula One driver also believes that now McLaren would also heavily need to help Norris to help their driver. However, it might just be too late according to him. "If the drivers' championship is decided by a few points, McLaren might [as] well regret [their previous] decisions," Berger concluded his verdict.
