Mercedes on Tuesday showed off the new W12 for the new 2021 Formula One season. The new car of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas is analysed in this video by F1 expert, Craig Scarborough.

The W12 of Mercedes

Mercedes has held a dominant position in Formula 1 for the past seven years. Since the hybrid era, the Germans have been unapproachable and have managed to stay one step ahead of the competition every year. In 2021, this will be more difficult due to development restrictions, but for the competition it is also a question of how far they can catch up.

At the end of 2020 Red Bull Racing came very close to Mercedes, with Max Verstappen even winning the last race in Abu Dhabi. There were said to be engine problems with Mercedes, but they are now reportedly completely resolved. According to Scarborough, we will probably never find out how they did it.
