A relatively quiet second free practice ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was red flaged 15 minutes before the end. The Ferrari engine in the back of Kimi Raikkonen's Alfa Romeo was on fire.
Raikkonen quickly pulled over, but he could not prevent it from causing a serious fire. After the Finn got out, he assisted the track marshals in an attempt to save the power source, but it seems unlikely that this was successful.
