During the Austrian Grand Prix 2019 Charles Leclerc was pushed off track by Max Verstappen just before the end of the race and saw the victory slip away from him. In sim racing the moment continues to haunt the Ferrari driver.

Now that the Formula 1 season has come to a standstill, Charles Leclerc is busy with sim racing. The Monegask can even be seen behind the digital wheel as often as Lando Norris and Verstappen. With his hobby Leclerc ended up back on the circuit of Spielberg for the Race for the World tournament, where he saw one of the most talked-about moments of 2019.

In an attempt to overtake Alexander Albon in the final lap, Leclerc tried to overtake outside. In the same corner where he encountered Verstappen in the race. Again the Ferrari driver was tapped by an RB15 and pushed off the track. It didn't take long to make the connection: "Oh man, you did a Verstappen! I didn't even have DRS."

Same moment, different result

The end result was only slightly different from the moment in real life. Where Verstappen got no penalty and the moment was dismissed as a racing incident, Albon got five seconds in the digital race. As a result, Leclerc still managed to write the race to his name.
