Charles Leclerc got away well at the start of the French Grand Prix. The Monegasque managed to stay ahead of the two Red Bull drivers and currently leads the race. Max Verstappen is in second place and is in hot pursuit of his rival.
On the opening lap, there was contact between Esteban Ocon and Yuki Tsunoda, causing the AlphaTauri driver to spin and start again from the back. Ocon received a five-second time penalty for the incident.
Sainz and Magnussen
Carlos Sainz managed to make up a few places at the back of the grid after his grid penalties, as the Spaniard is in thirteenth place after eight laps. Kevin Magnussen did even better than Sainz, as the Dane was able to drive straight back up from P20 to P12. Meanwhile, Verstappen is getting closer and closer to Leclerc's Ferrari car. Sergio Perez was overtaken by Lewis Hamilton at the start.
