Lando Norris is a good friend of Max Verstappen off the track, but in conversation with The Telegraph, Norris revealed that he believes Verstappen should be punished for the incident with Lewis Hamilton in Brazil.

Norris received a five-second penalty earlier this year for pushing Sergio Perez off-track in Austria. The Briton was on the inside of the corner and drove onto the kerbs, forcing the Mexican onto the gravel. The fact that Norris received a penalty and Verstappen didn't, is frustrating for the McLaren-driver.

Penalty for Verstappen

''Especially when his looked a lot more intentional than mine. I mean, he didn’t [actively] steer into Lewis but he didn’t continue to steer into the corner either. It was obviously purposely done and very wide. He pushed the limits,'' said the driver, who often takes part in online sim races with Verstappen.

''It’s a tough one I guess. I mean, I love the fact that they let us race. And it makes it very exciting that those two are racing for the championship. But you can’t bias something because it’s for a championship and then give someone who is 10th or 11th a penalty because they’re not racing for a championship. That’s not fair. There has to be consistency. It’s something that will be brought up in the drivers’ meeting this week for sure'', Norris concluded.
