Max Verstappen's lead over Lewis Hamilton shrank to fourteen points in the world championship standings. After a tough weekend for Red Bull Racing, the Dutchman will be looking for revenge in Qatar.
Tough weekend for Red Bull
In Red Bull's preview, Verstappen is asked how he looks back on Brazil. "It was a tough weekend. In general, we missed the speed of Mercedes, but despite that, we only lost a few points. So that's not so bad. Of course, I would always like to win, but we had a nice battle and finishing second is good."
There are still three races to go this season. After Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi are also still on the schedule. "So it's all about doing everything we can as a team to perform as well as possible on the track."
Racing for the first time in Qatar
This coming weekend will be the first time Formula One will race in Qatar, although Verstappen has been to the country before. "I think I've only been to Qatar once before for an awards ceremony, so I'm looking forward to going back. It's a new circuit and obviously, we've never been there before, so I'm very curious to see what it will be like to drive there, hopefully, we can perform well. It always looks cool when we see MotoGP racing there."
As for the expectations for the race, Verstappen doesn't dare say much yet. "We'll see when we get there. I've already driven a bit on the simulator to understand the corners, but it will be good to see the track in real life. The practice sessions are obviously very important for everyone to get up to speed and understand the set-up of the car."
