Max Verstappen finished second in the sprint race for the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Dutchman lost the lead to Valtteri Bottas at the start and did not get close enough to overtake during the race.

After the sprint race, Verstappen talks about his race in front of the cameras of Formula 1. "The start itself wasn’t the best, but of course we were on the harder compound. That also didn’t help, especially to put the energy in around here. It wasn’t the easiest. Nevertheless, I think the pace was quite good. Around here, once you close up you can’t really pass, but it’s okay," he said.

Mercedes fast on the straight

Verstappen couldn't manage to overtake Bottas, despite being in the DRS a lot. "They are faster on the straight, so you need a really good last corner to be able to pass. Today it wasn’t possible but we will try again tomorrow."

The Dutchman picks up two points. Rival Lewis Hamilton, who had to start from the back of the grid after a disqualification, finished fifth and took no points during the sprint race.
