Lando Norris is fifth in the world championship, a fair distance from title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. However, the McLaren driver believes he could make it exciting with a better car.

Attack on Verstappen

Norris is in his third season in Formula 1 and it appears to be one of his best so far. The Briton is fifth in the championship, has been on the podium four times already and still has an eye on Sergio Perez's fourth place in the standings. Norris believes that with a better car he could be in contention for the world title.

''100 percent, I believe I could give Max a run for his money. There are just different scenarios and situations where experience comes into play and you think ‘maybe he would have the upper hand on me in that scenario’ and I believe he is one of the best drivers ever in Formula 1. I think he has proven that since he joined when he was 16 or 17 years old,'' Norris said according to Formula1news.com.

Comparison with Ricciardo

At the start of the season, the main focus around McLaren was on newcomer Daniel Ricciardo. Many people wondered how Norris would compare to a race winner. Towards the end of this season, with 44 points ahead of his teammate in the standings, Norris is wondering if the question shouldn't be asked the other way around?

''And I guess with the addition of Danny coming into the team, there was a lot more eyes on what I’m going to be like versus Danny rather than the opposite way around. Not many people knew how good Carlos (Sainz) is and this year Carlos has proved how good he is against Charles (Leclerc), whom everyone rates as one of the best drivers in Formula 1'', concludes Norris.
