Yuki Tsunoda is in form. The AlphaTauri rookie has put himself in the spotlight in the last few races and even believes the United States Grand Prix was his best Formula One race to date.

The Japanese qualified tenth and finished ninth at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. It was the first time he had made the top ten since the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he finished sixth.

"It was a good step," the AlphaTauri driver said in conversation with Motorsport.com. "Long time no points, and I think from especially Turkey I had a quite good progress, and in the end in Turkey I had a big mistake, but I improved those things and brought the car back at home."

Tsunoda sees Austin as best Formula 1 race so far

"I was quite consistent, and also I think the best race I did in the season so far," he continued. Tsunoda excelled in both Turkey and America by keeping a Mercedes driver behind him for long periods of time. This time it was Valtteri Bottas, who lost his ninth position to the young talent right at the start.

"Normally I lose quite a lot of positions on the first lap," he said. "This time I gained a couple of positions, went a little bit more aggressive compared to other rounds, and it was okay, so I'll just keep going like this, " Tsunoda concludes.
