Mick Schumacher started from 16th on the grid in the United States due to grid penalties, and that was also his final classification. The German was no match for the other teams and 'profited' from a few dropouts. Nevertheless, Schumacher jr. had a great time in Texas.

"It was fun. I have to say I enjoyed it," Schumacher said on Sky Sports' camera. "I had some battles at the start and that prepares me well for next year."

"Yes, fact is I can't disappear. I was racing too. I was trying to be the least complicated or annoying for Max. And him getting DRS equalled that out a little bit. That's racing," he added.

Verstappen held on to just over a second over Hamilton at the finish. It allowed him to run out six points in the world championship. The 2021 season has five more weekends with Mexico, Brazil, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi.
