Red Bull Racing hopes to win a world title this season for the first time in years. For that Max Verstappen has to perform better than his competitor Lewis Hamilton. Sergio Pérez expects a lot from his teammate.

The Mexican's performance this season has been mixed, but he has seen Verstappen do much better. The Dutchman managed to stay on top of the world championship for a large part of the season. "I think Max has been the driver of the season, to be honest, so far," judges Pérez in conversation with Crash.net. "I think he has done the least mistakes of anyone out there. He’s put things together at a very high level."

Exciting end to the season

It's not going to be easy for the Austrians in the coming weeks, as Mercedes impresses especially in terms of top speed. However, the Grands Prix in the United States, Mexico and Brazil seem to suit Red Bull well.

"The season is still very long so we’ll see later on," states the Mexican driver. "So far I have been surprised in a very positive way on how he delivers without mistakes at such a high level. Whether he has any weak points? Not obvious ones, yet."
