Wolff forgiving: 'We can live with that'

Mercedes could be satisfied with its performance after the Turkish Grand Prix. Where Valtteri Bottas crossed the finish line first, the Germans made a grand impression especially in terms of speed.
The recent period already made it clear that Mercedes wanted to fight back in the championship battle with Red Bull Racing. The German racing stable succeeded quite well in doing so in Turkey, as with its speed Mercedes was a lot better than the Austrians.
Team boss Toto Wolff still looks back with great enthusiasm. "Bottas delivered a superior performance in Istanbul in difficult conditions to take his first win of the season," he told Speedweek.com. "He put in a flawless performance from start to finish. This gives him and the team an extra boost for the final part of the season and helps us to extend our lead in the constructors' world championship."
Battle between Hamilton and Verstappen
A grid penalty for Hamilton meant the Brit had to start the race from 11th. "In absolute terms, Lewis lost one point more in Turkey than Max lost in the previous race in Russia, where he had a similar engine change to Lewis, but we can live with that. Of course, in the heat of the race, you always want to make up a position to grab more points. That's just part of it for us as racers and we don't want to lose that competitive spirit."
