Will Alpine have to say goodbye to important asset after less than a year?
- GPblog.com
Less than a year ago Davide Brivio joined the Alpine team. There are now rumors that the Italian will soon leave Formula 1. He would return to MotoGP.
It came as a surprise to Formula 1 fans when Brivio was announced as Alpine's new recruit at the beginning of the year. The Italian is a big name in MotoGP. He became world champion with Suzuki but still made the switch to the highest class on four wheels.
Several media outlets are reporting that Brivio is now on the verge of leaving again, according to Motorsport-Total.com. The Italian would return to his old employer and is currently said to be negotiating with Suzuki. The deadline is next weekend when the MotoGP takes place in Misano.
Changes at Alpine soon?
At Alpine, Brivio holds the position of race director, along with Marcin Budkowski, Alpine's general manager. The two men have replaced Cyril Abiteboul as team boss for the new season. So there is a good chance that the structure within the team of Alpine will change again soon.
