The tension in Formula 1 is increasing by the week. With seven races to go, the difference between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen is only two points. According to Karun Chandhok, this makes it finally a worthwhile season.

The past years were hard to watch for the neutral Formula 1 fans. Sure, there were some good races now and then, but we never got a real fight for the world title. Lewis Hamilton took most of the titles, apart from Nico Rosberg's one year on top. In 2021, it is finally exciting again.

Excitement in Formula 1

"It's edgy. Lots of little digs coming up. They've collided as well so we've had controversy on track, the repercussions off track with penalties. There's so much going on. That's part of what makes a great F1 season, theoretical and drama," Chandhok told Sky Sports.

Hamilton and Verstappen are now gearing up for the Turkish Grand Prix. The Brit won the Turkish GP last year, but Verstappen actually managed to perform better on the slippery tarmac all weekend. Mercedes are therefore worried about grip at this circuit, in addition to concerns about a possible new engine for Hamilton.
