It took a while, but Aston Martin has announced the drivers for 2022. The team is sticking to its current lineup, and so Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll will remain with the team.

The seats of the current drivers are thus secured. That Stroll had a good chance of staying was clear, given the role of his father Lawrence in the team. For Vettel, it was not yet certain, but he too has nothing to worry about.

Vettel has had a strong couple of races, in which he took two podiums but had to give up one because of a disqualification. Because the team took so long to announce the news, the rumour mill was already spinning: Nyck de Vries was mentioned again for a seat, but that has now been dropped.
