Leclerc pleased with performance: 'I am happy with my lap actually'
- Toby McLuskie
Charles Leclerc qualified in P5 earlier, ahead of his teammate Carlos Sainz, and was pleased with his performance, despite having stronger finishes in the practice sessions on Friday and Saturday. Ferrari have the upper hand over rivals McLaren tomorrow, with Daniel Ricciardo starting P10 and Lando Norris in P13.
"I am happy with my lap actually," Leclerc told Sky Sports, "the only thing I am not happy about is I maybe asked for a bit too much front wing for the last run. I lost a bit of the rear and that cost us the fourth place, but that's life. Tomorrow we are starting P5 and have a good start."
Start of the race important, much like learning the car
The Monegasque driver also noted that understanding the car is still an important factor for himself, saying, "there is a lot of work to remain consistent and understand the car."
He finished by stating his hope at the start of the race tomorrow, "there are a lot of lines available through turn 3 tomorrow on the first lap. Hopefully, we can overtake Pierre at the start."
