BREAKING: FIA does not give Verstappen grid penalty after overtaking during red flag
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen crawled through the eye of the needle. The Dutchman overtook Lance Stroll during the second free practice, while the red flag was waved. In that case, you are not allowed to overtake, but the FIA has decided that they cannot give a penalty to the Red Bull Racing driver.
On Saturday morning, it was announced that the Dutchman would have to visit the stewards for an explanation after they found out relatively late that the Dutchman had overtaken under the red flag. The stewards, however, took no further action and so Red Bull's driver can look forward to qualifying, which will be hugely important on the tight track in the Dutch dunes.
No further action on Verstappen #F1 after passing under red flag yesterday.
