The Turkish Grand Prix is still in doubt because it falls in the red zone according to the United Kingdom. Formula 1 is already looking for a possible replacement Grand Prix and seems to have decided for Mugello.

Turkey in 'red zone' of United Kingdom

One of Autosport.com's most recent reports states that Mugello has surfaced as a possible replacement for the Turkish Grand Prix. Turkey falls under the UK's COVID-19 red zone, leaving the Istanbul race in doubt. The next review of countries falling into the red zone is not until September 16.

Mugello made its debut on the calendar in 2020 when the Tuscany Grand Prix was held there. The track is full of fast corners and elevation changes and was well received by the drivers.

Calendar is far from certain

At this moment it is still guesswork what the calendar will look like after the Russian Grand Prix. The gaps left by the cancellation of Japan and Australia still haven't been filled although a second race in the United States seems to be a possibility to replace Japan and Qatar is often mentioned as a replacement for Australia.
