Ferrari believes guilty rivals should pay for crash damage

There were many casualties on the opening lap of the Hungarian GP, including Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. He was hit by Lance Stroll in the first corner. The damage was extensive and Leclerc could not finish the race.
Ferrari believes Formula One should consider making teams pay for the repairs of other cars if their driver is found guilty of causing an accident.
“I think there is value for discussions in the near future with the other team principals, FIA and F1", said Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto on Autosport.com. “Obviously if you're not guilty, having such damage in the budget cap is something which is even more of a consequence now."
Red Bull also want a change
Red Bull Racing was already calling for F1's cost cap regulations to be reconsidered following huge bills for damage in the last two races. The bill from Max Verstappen 's crash at Silverstone was $1.8 million. Also after Hungary the team will have to pay a lot of money to repair the cars of both drivers. Ferrari goes a step further with their opinion.
“Should we add exemptions? I'm not sure that’s the solution. I think it may be very difficult to be policed", Binotto continued. “But I think that what we may consider is that if a driver is faulty, the team of the driver should pay at least to the other teams for the damages and repairs. That will make the drivers more responsible.”
