Lewis Hamilton had to visit the team doctor shortly after the Grand Prix because he was suffering from fatigue and dizziness. After his visit, the Briton gave an explanation.
Coronavirus still weighing Hamilton down
"I'm okay. I had some dizziness and it got blurry on the podium," Hamilton said after joining the press conference later. On stage, it was visible that the Briton was struggling to lift his trophy and spraying champagne was not easy for him either.
"I've been fighting all year to stay fit with what happened last year. This is still a fight," Hamilton concluded. At the end of the 2020 season, the Mercedes driver was diagnosed with the coronavirus. He missed the Sakhir Grand Prix as a result. It seems he is still not 100% recovered from the virus.
