Helmut Marko knows Lewis Hamilton was too fast for Red Bull Racing at the Hungaroring on Saturday, but the way the Mercedes driver then tried to outplay his rivals during the outlap does not sit well with the 78-year-old Graz-based consultant.

"We knew Hamilton was very, very fast," Marko reports to ServusTV. Speaking to the Austrian television station, Red Bull's top man did reveal that they had hoped for second place. "We thought we could at least catch Bottas in the second run. But by playing games, which earned him a wonderful whistle concert from the crowd, Hamilton prevented Max from setting another fast time."

Marko not happy with Hamilton

Verstappen did manage to cross start-finish on time, unlike team-mate Sergio Perez. Fortunately, it didn't cost the Mexican any spots as he remained fourth. "So thank God not much has changed," said Marko, who adds at Sky: "It's just the usual games. From a sporting point of view, I don't see that this is right, but we have to take note of that as well."

With that, Marko reacts a lot more annoyed than Christian Horner. The team boss of the Milton Keynes-based racing stable stated that it is Hamilton's right, as he has the track position.
