Where the European Championship final at Wembley should have been England's first big football party since 1966 after the sour penalty shootout hopes are now pinned on Britain's Formula One drivers. Silverstone is just around the corner, and after losing to Italy, the nation could use a boost. Or will a Dutchman throw a spanner in the works?

Lando Norris

On the Twitter channel of Sky Sports F1, both Lando Norris and George Russell are asked for their prediction for the weekend. Is F1 coming home? Will it be Lewis Hamilton or Max Verstappen? Lando Norris: "It's going to be tough, it's going to be a tough fight. Max is looking very strong. So there is a big chance that the race will have a Dutch winner."

Although Norris and Verstappen are friends, Norris says he still hopes Hamilton wins the race in the UK: "I support Lewis, because I support my fellow countryman. I wish him all the best. But I wish them both well in their fight for the championship."

George Russell

For George Russell, however, it is not so obvious that Verstappen will win the race: "You can never rule out Mercedes. They are an exceptional team. But Max and Red Bull seem to be in really good shape at the moment, and everything is falling their way. But in sport and especially Formula 1, things can change very quickly." Especially in the predicament, Russell is in at the moment, in terms of contract negotiations and his future, it is difficult to make a prediction: "I hope Lewis and Mercedes win, but Max is doing great at the moment and deserves the chance he has now."
