Where Red Bull Racing were able to pluck Mercedes for the new engine project, it's Aston Martin that's taking a lot of staff from Red Bull Racing. After the announced departure of Dan Fallows, Andrew Alessi will become the new Head of Technical Operations at Aston Martin.

Another star has left Red Bull

It should be clear by now that Lawrence Stroll has big plans for Aston Martin. The team has already declared that they want to win the world title, and a new factory is a step in the right direction. After recruiting Fallows as Technical Director, the team is now bringing in someone from Red Bull Racing.

Andrew Alessi has spent the last 13 years at Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technology. Over the last three years he worked at Aerodynamics Design as Production and Operations Manager. Prior to that, he held various positions, including Aerodynamics Engineer and Head of Aerodynamic Design.

Alessi to Aston Martin

As of 1 July 2021, however, Alessi will be active as the new Head of Technical Operations at Aston Martin. ''Like everyone in and around Formula One, I have seen and been impressed by the evident ambition of the team I am joining, led as it is now by Lawrence Stroll [Executive Chairman], and I am very much looking forward to working with Otmar Szafnauer [Team Principal and Chief Executive Officer] as well as the very capable technical- and engineering-focused members of the senior management team'', Alessi revealed in the press release.

''Now is a fantastic time to be joining a team that is growing fast, and I am ready to get stuck in straight away so as to contribute to the process of making the significant aerodynamic and operational improvements that we need in order to win consistently in the future'', concludes Alessi.
