Max Verstappen has managed to extend his lead in the F1 Power Rankings further after his victory in the Styrian Grand Prix. His performance in Spielberg earns him a 9.8, which sees the Dutchman increase his average to 9.1 over eight Grands Prix in 2021.

"'Hamilton-esque' is how some people were describing Max Verstappen’s Styrian Grand Prix victory – and you could see what they meant. Verstappen’s 14th career win was his most commanding yet, the Dutchman leading every lap from pole, and with pace in hand to control the gap to Lewis Hamilton at will to take his first ever back-to-back win, and his third at the Red Bull Ring. A practically perfect performance," the official Formula 1 website commented.

Norris impresses too

The number two in Austria was Lando Norris. The British McLaren driver received a 9.3 on his report, which was one-tenth higher than George Russell. Norris's young compatriot recorded a DNF due to technical issues, but did impress during qualifying and the opening stages of the race.

Lewis Hamilton is number three in the standings with an average of 8.2. In the first of two races in Austria, he scored an 8.0. He did see Charles Leclerc closing in on him.
