Max Verstappen dramatically lost out on victory in Baku, but a strong performance by Sergio Perez minimised the damage to him and Red Bull Racing. Verstappen's teammate won the race, and with Lewis Hamilton also failing to score any points, the standings at the top of the championship remained unchanged.

As a result, Red Bull were still in a party mood, although there were mixed feelings about Verstappen missing out on the championship lead. This was also the case for Perez, who in his post-race reaction immediately let it be known how bad he felt about Verstappen.

Verstappen, however, was very happy for his teammate, who got his first win for Red Bull Racing. After the race, he therefore simply stood there to cheer him on during the podium ceremony, and after it ended, he sought him out to congratulate him personally.

"Are you a bit sweaty or not?", the Dutchman asks as he drops in on an interview from Perez. "I've already changed my shirt", the race winner responds, after which he again expresses his regret for the disappointment for Verstappen. The latter, however, says he should enjoy it above all. "You did a great job today, " he says as the two embrace amicably.
