Rumor: Arrivabene on top of list of contenders for CEO job at Juventus
- GPblog.com
Maurizio Arrivabene, former director of Ferrari, has been without a job since January 7, 2019, but that could soon change. Indeed, football club Juventus is looking for a successor after the departure of CEO Fabio Paratici. Arrivabene would be an option for that.
In fact, according to Gazetta dello Sport he's at the top of the Old Lady's list. His main competitors? Giovanni Carnevali (Sassuolo), Matteo Tognozzi (Juventus youth) and Giovanni Manna (director of the under-23 team of Juventus). So there is opposition from both inside and outside Juventus. Paratici, the former CEO of Juve, left after a dramatic season at Juventus and partly because of the commotion that arose around the so-called 'Super League'. As a result, Juventus is now looking for a new CEO.
PERIOD AT FERRARI
It would be the first job for Arrivabene since leaving Ferrari in 2019. He was team principal of the red cars in Formula 1 from 24 November 2014 to 7 January 2019. However, his period there was not very successful. Under his leadership, Ferrari drove mostly in the shadow of Mercedes and Red Bull, despite having drivers like Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen at their disposal.
Since then we have seen Arrivabene mostly in interviews, but the Italian might soon have a new job. Outside Formula 1 that is.
