Max Verstappen made a big impression with his win in Monaco on Sunday. Martin Brundle in his column for Sky Sports praised the Dutchman, who seems to be maturing more and more.
In Monaco, Verstappen reached the podium for the first time, and he was able to climb the highest step. The Dutchman drove a strong race and had the chance to win the race after Charles Leclerc retired. Brundle saw a strong performance from Verstappen, who is making an increasing impression.
Verstappen impresses
''It was a mature and composed drive to an easy victory for the Dutchman, he's the real deal now in that he takes risks when the rewards are high and crucial, but he otherwise plays the percentage game'', Brundle is referring to the much more calculated way of driving of Verstappen, who can no longer play all or nothing during a race.
''He was livid when Leclerc's crash denied him of what he felt was a genuine pole position lap but, by Sunday, he was serene. No 'win it or bin it' from today's Verstappen, which means he's a genuine title contender,'' the former Formula One driver concluded.
