Liam Lawson has won the second sprint race in Formula 2 at Monaco. The New Zealander stayed ahead of Dan Ticktum, who came just short of a victory. Richard Verschoor started in 13th place, but finished six positions up front.

The teams were busy at the start of the race, because the weather conditions were not easy. Where during the night the necessary rain fell down, just before the race it was sunny over the circuit. The drivers therefore started with wet tyres. Lawson's start was bad and Oscar Piastri took the first position. But that was not for long, because Lawson took over the lead again after a few laps.

It was Lawson, who is in second place in the championship, who came out on top. Right behind him, Ticktum finished. It meant bad news for Dutchman Richard Verschoor, who in turn couldn't get any further than a ninth place finish. The Dutch driver was right behind Ticktum and sees the gap widen.

Result Viscaal

Bent Viscaal, who drove hard against David Beckmann, also reached the finish in Monaco. The second Dutchman in Formula 2 only managed to finish in 12th place, which means he is still without points in the championship. Guan Yu Zhou, the leader in the championship, finished in sixteenth position.
