Perez: "I think we have plenty of information for qualifying on Saturday"
Sergio Perez has started his first Monaco Grand Prix weekend in Red Bull colours. The Mexican isn't too confident of a front-row start for Sunday's race around the streets of Monaco but insists he gathered enough information during the practice sessions on Thursday.
The one-time Grand Prix winner suggests the team need to make a few improvements on Friday to find enough pace to secure the front-row in Saturday's qualifying session.
"We'll see. We have some work to do and some pace to find for the front-row. We need to understand what happened from FP1 to FP2. Hopefully, we can get it sorted and be in the mix tomorrow [Saturday]," Perez told Sky Sports after practice.
"I am just enjoying it a lot, it's a fantastic track. We had a very good FP1, the car was feeling good and we need a couple of changes. But I think we have plenty of information for qualifying on Saturday. We need to find some pace on the low fuel runs."
Ferrari strong
FP2 demonstrated that Red Bull might also be fighting with Ferrari as well as Mercedes during the weekend in Monaco. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz locked out the top two places and Perez knows they might be real contenders.
"Ferrari are pretty strong, Leclerc missed practice one and still he made it all the way to P1. They seem to be pretty strong out there," he added.
