Horner: "That can be an indicator of how the car performs in Monaco"

At the start of the 2021 Formula 1 season, it looked like Red Bull Racing had built a car that was as fast, if not faster, than Mercedes'. So far, however, three quarters of the victories have gone to Mercedes, and so the need for Red Bull to win a race is becoming ever greater.
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner agrees with that. After having to give up victory in Spain he remained optimistic, because the team was closer than ever to Mercedes. However, if they want to stay in contention for the championship, they really need a win soon.
Sector 3 in Barcelona representative for Monaco
In many minds, Red Bull need to win the Monaco Grand Prix to stay in the race. Horner agrees, adding that the third sector of the Barcelona circuit could be representative of Monte Carlo. "It can be an indicator of how the car performs in Monaco," Horner said in conversation with Formula1.com. "In Monaco we should be able to be competitive."
"This year at every Grand Prix except Bahrain there was less than a tenth of a second between us and the pole position. It's incredibly close, and in Monaco we have to make sure we beat Mercedes. But we know that's going to be incredibly difficult," Horner said.
