Formula 1 will test the sprint race for the first time in 2021 and we will get our first look at it in action at the British Grand Prix. Formula 1 has revealed the schedule for the weekend.

Friday

The times are different than usual. First, a free practice will take place on Friday, at 2:30 PM. This session will last for one hour before qualifying for the sprint race starts at 18:00 UK time, and will also last one hour.

Saturday

On Saturday the second free practice session will take place from 12:00 with the sprint race starting at 16:30. This session will last for half an hour, and at 17:00 the results will be used to determine the starting grid for Sunday's race.

Sunday

On Sunday the race is planned as usual. The starting grid is determined by the results of the sprint qualification on Saturday, so it might look different than usual. The start of the race is a bit later than we are used to, with lights out at 15:00.
