Sebastian Vettel says that Aston Martin are already too far behind to fight for third place in the Constructors' Championship. The team is currently on five points; sixty less than current number three McLaren.

It is still far from the season Aston Martin and Sebastian Vettel hoped for. The results of the first four Grands Prix are disappointing, to say the least. The German hasn't scored a single point yet, while teammate Lance Stroll hasn't achieved more than two points.

After four Grand Prix already a new goal

After a successful last year as Racing Point, in which the team just failed to finish third among the constructors, the aim this year was to achieve third place. However, after four races in 2021, the goal has already been adjusted: "It is difficult to set a goal. But third place is already too far away," Vettel admitted at F1-Insider.com.

Aston Martin currently occupies seventh place in the constructors' standings and has already fallen well behind number three McLaren. "We find it difficult to make the right step forward, but we still have a few races to go," concludes Vettel.
